Motivated by the desire to support and promote local unsigned musicians in the Maryland area, the Main Street Music Fest features some of the best talent that Maryland and surrounding areas have to offer. In 2013, this festival featured 86 bands performing on 9 live music stages (5 venue and 4 outdoor) on the streets of Ellicott City's Historic District. 90 bands were showcased throughout the day. 89 bands have been confirmed thus far for 2014. Now in its 3rd year, this festival will also provide a wide array of activities for all ages including outdoor beer gardens, shopping, kids area, great food and more. The Main Street Music Festival is FREE/open to the public and family friendly. Each outdoor stage will be sponsored by a local craft brewery/winery. Local restaurants will be at each area offering tastes from Ellicott City as well as non-alcoholic beverages. There will be paid and free parking in town. Organizers strongly encourage attendees to carpool if possible. There will be a free shuttle servicing the free parking area. Maps will be available online soon at the event website listed above.
